Mountain Ventures, Inc. is a Small Business Investment Company (SBIC) owned by Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation (KHIC), a community development financial institution based in London, Kentucky. KHIC was formed in 1968 to stimulate growth and create employment opportunities in a 22-county region of Southeastern Kentucky (expanded from its original nine-county footprint in 2003). The corporation makes debt and equity investments, assists businesses in developing financing packages, and supports clients through training, technical assistance, and managerial coaching. As of March 2023, KHIC had provided $667 million in financing to 1,043 borrowers, creating 20,314 jobs.
