University Ventures, Inc. is the Specialized Small Business Investment Company (SSBIC) subsidiary of New Jersey Community Capital (NJCC), a nonprofit community development financial institution (CDFI) based in New Brunswick, NJ. NJCC was founded in 1987 and provides an innovative toolkit of financial products, programs, and services for underserved communities. Through University Ventures, NJCC operates its private equity and mezzanine debt platform supporting minority- and women-owned businesses and community-based needs. In 2024, NJCC announced plans to expand University Ventures as part of a $1 billion growth strategy to scale its impact area nationwide.
